New St. James Presbyterian Church has two bursary funds to assist theological students at the Masters and Doctoral levels. The Board of Trustees oversees the awards, the application process, and disbursements. Award values vary each year based on income earned from the bursary funds.
Application deadline: September 30
Eligibility: Students who have completed at least one year of theological studies in their current program may apply.
Each award has additional criteria which may limit eligibility.
How to apply: Submit the following documents by September 30 to New St. James Presbyterian Church, 280 Oxford Street East, London, Ontario N6A 1V4, Attention: Trustees, or email to admin@newstjames.ca

- Copy of all post-secondary transcripts (unofficial is acceptable)
- Applicants are required to contact two references; one must be:
- Referees are to submit their reference form electronically by September 30 directly to New St. James Presbyterian Church admin@newstjames.ca
THE A. H. (Bert) HARE TRUST FUND
The A. H. (Bert) Hare Trust is open to individuals enrolled in part-time or full-time Masters or Doctoral theological studies for the ministry or other professional careers in the church. Applicants must be currently enrolled in one of the theological institutions of the Presbyterian Church in Canada (PCC) or at another ATS-accredited theological institution, and have completed at least one year of studies in their current program.
Students will be considered in the following order of priority:
- Students from the Presbytery of London
- Students from the Synod of Southwestern Ontario
- Students recommended by the principals of Presbyterian College or Knox College or by the Dean of St. Andrew’s Hall.

THE CHARLES G. WAINER and ETHEL WAINER TRUST FUND
The Charles G. Wainer and Ethel Wainer Trust Fund is open to members of churches within all presbyteries studying full-time for the ministry in the church.
